Ikea's positive fanatics
Ikea fanblog Positive Fanatics documents what looks to be a substantial line of people camped out overnight this week waiting for the Schaumburg, Ill. store to celebrate its remodeling.
PF also points us to Ikeahacker, a site dedicated to tinkering with Ikea products. Considering the size of most Ikea stores and the number of products the retailer carries, a hack site is a natural idea.
Update: Kevin Dugan points us toward Ohikea -- a blog dedicated to convincing Ikea to open a store in Ohio. The blog's motto: "IKEA in Ohio. Because we aren't Indiana. Thank god." (Updates earlier update.)

Ikea creates a new level of evangelism.
Witness my favorite customer blog, Ohikea. It's written by Ikea fan, Jen Segrest, who is trying to get Ikea to locate to her home state of Ohio.

As I'm based in Cincinnati, I'm hoping she succeeds.
But what if Ikea had Starbucks' plans for ubiquity instead of its current, selective expansion?
Kevin -- Thanks for the heads-up on the Ohikea blog. I'll update the post to include Jen's blog.
Consider the size of those Ikea stores. I think most of them require significant infrastructure work for communities to handle the crush of traffic alone. I recall reading somewhere that Ikea stores need to be relatively close to major waterways or airports because of the massive tonnage of inventory that arrives daily.
I'm not wanting one in middletown, perse (that would rock since i live there) just ONE in ohio is all i'm asking for... just ONE!
in the us they want them *on* interstates, they ship in the US excelisively by thier own trucks.
And i'm working for an IKEA in ohio, anywere is fine, just want ONE. ONE!
Jen -- Thanks for the update. My mistake on the earlier assumption, so I updated the post. And nice work on your lobbying efforts!
Thank you, Sir for the kind mention.

An amazing example of customer evangelism.
