More on the "new traditionalists" vs. the "WOM progressives"

Word of mouth marketing agency BoldMouth released a study today and found a good deal of expectations should be re-calibrated on the effective spread of word of mouth.

The upshot: A plurality (34%) of the 122 survey respondents said a campaign should deliver results "in a few weeks." That falls pretty much into the "new traditionalist" expectations of immediate, media-driven results rather than organic and sustained customer-driven growth.

The 55-page report is free and can be found here (PDF).

WOW! That's a big report.

I know there are interesting ways to run a "word of mouth marketing campaign", kind of like adding massive amounts of fertilizer. To me the real strength is the power of someone's recommendation which does grow organically.

Thanks for the link!
